Fly yourself 2000 feet above ground and enjoy the countryside from an incomparable perspective
Take to the skies in a light aircraft! Experience what it's like to take full control of one of these machines on your first flying lesson. You will be instructed by a highly experienced flying professional who will take you through safety and controlling the plane. Enjoy the views and the freedom you gain from soaring high above the world. This is a thrilling experience that may well start a career in flying for you!
On arrival you will have a short briefing by an experienced, professional flying instructor. Basic control on surfaces of a light aircraft, the elevator, ailerons and rudder and safety will be covered. Then it's time to board the aircraft! You will be sat in the ‘driving seat’ and the instructor will taxi the plane to the runway and take off. You will reach a height of 2000feet where you will be taught basic manoeuvres and controls. Then you'll be able to take command of the plane. The aircraft is fitted with dual control so the instructor can assist whenever necessary. Once landed after the session your instructor will present you with a flight certificate as a memento of the 30 minute lesson.

Information and Restrictions
On purchasing this experience you will be issued with a voucher valid for 10 months for one person. On receipt of this voucher you are free to call the flying school to book a lesson. When you book it is essential to inform the centre if you are over 6'4” or over 16 stone as an extra charge maybe necessary as a bigger plane maybe required. The minimum age for this experience is 14 years old. If the participant is under 18 a parent or guardian needs to join them on the day. Family and friends are welcome to come along and watch you fly. It is essential that you become a temporary member of the air centre on the day, it is free of charge and it ensures you are covered by the center's’ insurance. All lessons are subject to availability and weather conditions on the day and so clients are advised to phone the morning of the lesson to check if it is safe to fly.
