A perfect course for beginners looking for an introduction to this amazing sport
These days are excellent for starter sailors, free of the pressures of a formal qualification. There is no set itinerary but your skipper will guide you through the basics of sailing including rigging the sails, using the engine, point of sail; as well as helming and manoeuvring the boat, anchorage and marine safety. It's an accessible way to gaining an idea of what this unique sport can offer, conducted on the waters of the Stour and Ipswich Marina.
This itinerary is a guide only - actual timings will depend on weather, crew competencies etc. Generally you will arrive at the marina at around 9.30am. You will have a safety briefing, before taking to the water. Instruction during the day will cover all the basics of sailing, and lunch is included in this experience. Your experience will end at around 4.30pm.

On purchasing this experience you will be issued with a voucher valid for ten months for one person. You are then free to contact the operator to book a date for your experience. This experience is available on either the Saturday or the Sunday of the second weekend of each month. It lasts for one day. Voucher pricing is based on high season (May - Sept) booking and no refunds are possible for bookings made at other times of the year. Additional items such as insurance and waterproof hire (if required) need to be paid for at point of booking.
